Early / Late

For the past few weeks, I’ve been listening to a lot of local music which I think was brought by my trips to SaGuijo and attendance to music festivals. So, when I was shooting for Ibarra Watches, I had the music of crwn and bp hovering over me as I flatlayed one layout after the other (thus the song title I can't help but resonate with because I've been using the watch to determine whether or not I'll be late for my 9 am classes). With such great music in the background, I was trying to think of ways to put the Rizal watch in focus. After a day of planning and a trip to National Bookstore, I was able to let my childhood resurface and do some arts and crafts over the weekend. Here's the output after several days of conceptualizing, cutting, pasting, and shooting for Ibarra Watches!

No Role Modelz

A perk of being in the Communication Arts program in my school is being able to utilize the studio as much as we can for practice. With super minimal knowledge on studio lighting, my friends and I took on a challenge of shooting with a limited set up. On that day, Mar and Nigel just wanted photos for their portfolio... I simply didn't want to go to class, hence the impromptu shoot. (Read on for more photos!)

Oh Brighter Days!

Yesterday, I got the chance to shoot the Oh Brighter Days! collection for Heima designed by Googly Gooeys. I just couldn't pass up the invitation to shoot. Everything inside Heima was so picturesque! Plus, most of my idols were in the event. I kind of hoped they painted on the spot just so we could see some art in action!

She a Fashion Killa

My friend asked me to do a photo shoot for our batch's fund raising activity. Despite a big setback (which was the shirt itself), we promoted and sold the shirt really well! Here's the product of three different shoots and really heavy (mass) editing!

Burning Red

I've been taking Digital Art classes for quite some time now and because of that, I gained rights to tag along with the Photography class whenever I felt like it. Today's shoot was about close-up face shots. My friend and I had no clue what to do so we turned the model into a living sugar skull. (I painted a face today!)

I understand how the sugar skull fad can come off as racist (search: Cultural Appropriation) but we did this project with no intentions of discrimination. I apologize beforehand if you have been offended by my actions.

Lights Out

The story that didn't make it - We shot a few stills for our Macabre film's story board. Our task was to show a feminist Gothic short film in a span of 7 minutes. Our proposed story was a teenage pregnancy told in reverse. We've got a few weeks left to shoot and finalize but we had to begin with a solid story line. So, here goes my class' attempt to make this cool film!
