Screaming Color

Lately, I found myself lurking art blogs (1 2 3) out of my spare time because I’m in need of inspiration but I came to realize I’m surrounded with so much. Now, I’m climbing up to my house’s roof deck to paint the afternoon away! (I kind of regret not bringing a sketchpad to the province. I’m stuck with a not-so-watercolor friendly notebook and my Moleskine.)

These are just a few of what’s inside my planner. After discovering what brush lettering is, it got me hooked! I pretty much just doodle whatever’s playing or where I’ve been. I’m still on the road to learning more techniques and tricks with watercolor. I’ve been using the same watercolor set (Prang, 8-color palette) I’ve owned since 2011 and I still have so much paint left. I honestly don’t know what I did to make it last that long!

Baby, it's cold outside

5 days before Christmas yet my holiday spirit is at an all time low. Good thing I had friends to party with to remind me that it is in fact, Christmas. (though I think I forgot to greet everyone a merry Christmas....) A big thank you to Dani for taking photos in my behalf!

Had a lot of firsts this weekend but playing Cards Against Humanity for the first time could just be the most significant. I've heard a lot about this game and it was, indeed, funny in the most offensive way. 'The Gays' are pretty much to be blamed for anything.
There's seriously nothing else on my wishlist but these. This is pretty tame compared to my past wishlists. Basically, just take me to National Bookstore and a Vans store and I'm good for Christmas. Well, maybe add a few bandage skirts to that list so I can put an end to Demure December. Happy Holidays, everyone!

New Shores

Three months ago, I celebrated my 18th birthday in Sweet Ecstasy with a few friends and family. The night was filled with good food, good music, and better company. This marked the beginning of my legality (and hopefully, my maturity) .

The exact reason why I wanted to throw my birthday dinner in Sweet Ecstasy was because of its hipster vibe. Not only did it have a brick wall for projection, it was also in the heart of Cubao X. (John Lloyd Cruz and Lourd De Veyra were right outside! Bonus guests HAHA)

Could you go and run into me?

The past few weeks have been very eventful. Between this post and the previous one, I managed to turn legal, get a new phone, and get through my first term in college. I'm currently on my really long term break which means I have the time to chill and bum around (despite the fact that I still have papers to finish).

Gotta be down because I want it all

"I put the 'yea' in 'yearbook'" and "I put the 'boo' in 'yearbook'" gets me every time. We had a little too fun with the projector at one of our meetings. We spotted the togas sitting in one corner and since it was a little chilly, we decided to bask in the warmth of our Seniority.

December 1st, I'm in a foreign state

I've reposted this photo countless times already but I never seem to get tired of it. I took this a few years ago with my digicam from the backseat of the car as we drove home from a family reunion. I absolutely love this time of the year because of the music, the places I go to, and the people I spend my time with. Since December started off on the right foot for me, I'm ho-ho-hoping that the rest of the month is just as great. (Also, please check out my holiday mixtape!)

And nope, the Ortigas area is not a foreign state and will never be one. The weekend began with my adventure in Pearl Drive with my friends, then we walked all the way to Shang to get gelato. More walking ensued and by the time I got to Mega, I was practically exhausted. But no regrets! I was welcomed by big shopping bags held by my family.

As a form of bonding, my sister and I hoarded stuff from Forever 21's massive sale. We often go into an agreement that if I get something, my sister has to get one as well. I ended up being the sore loser because they all had complete outfits while I walked out with a pair of shorts, a pair of socks, and a headband.

This year's wishlist. I couldn't ask for anything more because I practically have what I need in terms of family, friends, gadgets, clothing, and whatnot. But the materialistic girl that I am, of course, I still have my demands.
  • Batch Bora - tops the list. My parents have agreed to let me go but terms and conditions apply. The plans are all set but I just need back-up cash for the trip. This is the main reason why I couldn't buy most (if not all) of the stuff on my wishlist!!!!!! #annoying (I use the 20-Peso rule when it comes to my funds. If I spend on something and a 20 peso bill returns as change, it goes straight to the Bora Fund.)
  • A 2014 Planner - I didn't want to spend that much on coffee this year so I'm skipping the Starbucks planner after getting it consistently for 3 years. The search for the perfect planner is still ongoing because I'm highly particular with the type of paper the planners have. The Moleskine one's too thin for me, but heck, it's still a Moleskine.
  • 0.38 Gel Pens from Muji - Lately, most of my pens have been going missing/running out of ink so it would be HIGHLY appreciated if someone got me this.
  • Havaianas Slim in Lime Green - I just want new flip flops for Bora...
  • Mcdonald's Apple Pie - I just can't get enough of these, I swear.
  • Fisheye Lomography Camera/Fisheye Extender Lens - I could've bought this a long time ago but I decided to splurge my money on something else. I have too much stuff to save up for and...
  • To pass my CETs - The results will be out by January and I can't even describe how nerve-wracking the wait has been. I just want my future to be as bright as a diamond (jk. La Salle, pls accept me :----------( )

VIVA LA SENOR1T4!

After winning last year's title of Overall Champs, we're vying for a back-to-back victory! It dawned to me that this being my last intrams, I've been in the pep squad for 4 straight years. But hey, at least I got to make tarps and banners for the batch!

Change in Pressure

I kept telling my self that I need to post on my blog more often. So, I made a promise to constantly update this despite school and everything happening. The lack of updates should be blamed on my laziness because school's such a hassle and wears me out 100% of the time. Basically, I'm just too lazy to lug my camera around wherever I go. It's a good thing my phone takes quality photos, so most of my "adventures" end up on my Instagram account. Here's a few photos I took the past few months that didn't make it to this blog (until now).
And the adventure began last summer, when I flew ALONE to my province, Bacolod. (Bucket List #119: Fly alone on an airplane) I had too much fun with my cousins and I ended up putting my CET reviewers away. The summer was well spent because of the taho I had everyday and all the things I couldn't do back here in Manila.
So, after a kick-ass summer, I was welcomed by a package from Canada containing my favorite things: Pistachios, Bikini tops, and Licorice. From a swimming trip in Laguna, my dad drove me straight to Makati so I can watch Mayday Parade live for the 4th time. (#clutch)

Too early to say good night

I crossed a few things off my bucket list last week. I went to prom with a super close family friend and I got to see my closest friends at our best. I'm still bitter over not dancing to Stolen but the rest of the night was chill (even if I was in 5-inch heels)!

Place less travelled

Intrams Day 2 - We went all the way to ULTRA (ang layo?) to watch our Track team run towards the gold. I got to put my lens to the test today! I just cheered "KAIBIGAN KO YAN!" while they all ran and took photos along the way. It was fun being the team's photographer for the day!

#DUGONGBUGHAW

Here's my photo diary of the first day of our school's annual Intrams! The entire St. Paul Community comes together to witness different batches go head to head to compete for the coveted title of Overall Champions. Based on what I've heard, St. Paul's intrams is different from other schools because ours is a total bloodbath. The batch rivalry even goes to the extent of wrecking drum sets and endless bashing on social media. However, once the week is over, all is forgiven (but never forgotten *cue evil laugh*)

The rivalry is solely founded on batch spirit. We nurture this spirit by rehearsing cheers, making banners, and beautifying our muse together all for the title. This year, my batch will surely rock and row our way to the top!

Lights Out

The story that didn't make it - We shot a few stills for our Macabre film's story board. Our task was to show a feminist Gothic short film in a span of 7 minutes. Our proposed story was a teenage pregnancy told in reverse. We've got a few weeks left to shoot and finalize but we had to begin with a solid story line. So, here goes my class' attempt to make this cool film!

Unbelievable

Nothing says priceless than Vernon Go telling you that you have potential and having lunch with Miggy Chavez. We had them over at school for the fifth installment of St. Paul's Alternative Class Program which aims to give the students a view on different careers from the professionals themselves. Mr. Go represented Concert Production while Mr.Chavez, along with 2 other singers, represented the musicians. The Social Science area labelled this one as the best of all ACP events. Hats off to us, Juniors!
